We offer posture classes on a regular basis. These are group classes that focus on overall instruction of proper posture and body mechanics including:
- Transfers – Sit to Stand/Squatting
Core Stabilization Class
Taught by a Physical Therapist with Beginner and Intermediate classes available. Classes are designed to be an adjunct to the corrective exercise that you are already receiving during therapy. Includes anatomy of the core and how to correctly engage during simple to advanced movements/exercises.
Awareness Through Movement (ATM) consists of verbally directed, gentle exercise lessons involving sophisticated movement sequence. These Feldenkrais lessons directly engage our natural intelligence in a gentle and pleasurable way. ATM accesses the sensory motor processes of the brain that involve attention, perception, imagination and cognition. Patterns of inefficiency, compromised self-expression, and forgotten ways of feeling can all be improved for greater enjoyment and pleasure in daily living.
Featuring Jill Waters a highly skilled and respected instructor. Classes are very reasonable at only $10.
Classes are held Saturdays at 9:30 AM
Boise Community Education
Physical Therapy 180 is pleased to host Boise School District Community Education. We have rallied many volunteers in the community and we are excited about the curriculum. We will be hosting the presentations at our own facility 5909 W State Street, Boise, ID. Our therapists also volunteer each year for the ACMS and High School Physical Committee for sports physicals performing spinal checks/scoliosis screening. Last year the fundraiser brought in $22,000 for high school sports medicine programs.
We produced an exercise video that outlines in detail many of the exercises and stretches that we prescribe to our patients. It is available for $16.95 at both locations and contains three separate sections, one on Core, Flexibility and Strengthening. Each segment is individually available for purchase at the web address below.
